World knows India is a secular country with innumerable diversities, casts and races. But unity amongst so much varieties of living standards makes India a very very special nation. In recent times, a burning debating war has started between top two religions - Hindu and Muslim - on beef eating. Due to some personal religious remarks on beef by some politicians, the central government has finally stepped into the matter and issued a documentary ban on killing cows and eating beef in India, which is in private custody now. Since it is a sensitive matter, the ban document us not made publicly open until it gets the full and final approval.
(Dear readers, I am not against any religion or religious person. I respect both with my heart. The intention of this article is not to harm anyone's sentiments or beliefs. Well, if you ask me, personally I am very happy. Because I am strongly against killing and harming of animals, not just cows but each and every living creature. That is simply because I am a vegetarian, not because I am a Hindu. Then why people make a big mess out of nothing by giving a religion spin on beef eating? I feel it is strongly a personal and individual choice, whether or not to become a non-vegetarian. I strongly believe there are many Muslims who follow the guidelines of the Quran with depth dedication which says "Thou shall not kill". The Hindu scriptures also say that " jiba hatya mahapaap" which literally means killing of living beings a great sinful act. Then why we are killing animals for satisfying our tongue and fighting with each other on religion base? I believe no one of us is respecting our own religion properly, then why do we say that India is no more a secular country as it has become religion specific by making documentary ban on cow killing and beef eating?
I congratulate the Government of India for scripting such a welcome decision of ban on killing cows and making beef party in restaurants and hotels. India will never become religion specific from secular, rather people worldwide should come forward and stand together with the Indian government and greet them for making 'No beef eating' a documentary principle in India.
A Suggestion to the Government of India
Then why not "No mutton eating", "No pork and ham eating" ? These are also killing of animals. Indian government should consider these points to minimize animal violence to the greatest extent. That will be India's best secularism proof.
