The Proposed National Food Security Bill 2013: an open review

The 2014 general loksabha election poll is creating the maximum buzz at the moment and that is why the Indian Government law makers are not prudent enough to see what is going to happen after 2014. Our aim here is to talk a bit about the recently proposed National Food Security Bill 2013 in an open review manner and analyze its advantages, benefits, demerits, drawbacks or disadvantages so that people can understand this Government campaign/scheme/policy against starvation and hunger better.
Food is one of the three basic necessities of life and we have been watching how the UPA government has been struggling over the past few years to successfully pass a food security bill for the hungry and needy people. The National Food Security bill has been rotating from one table to another for the last 3 or 4 years, from one ministry to another; but never got a real shape. But now since the election polls 2014 are very near, UPA-2 government wants to use this opportunity as a weapon for pulling peoples’ attraction and of course their votes. With this hope of winning the upcoming elections and resuming its term as UPA-3, the Government has recently passed the proposed food security bill for the hungry people of India. But is this National Food Security bill good enough to defy starvation, malnutrition and hunger of the poor Indian people?  Can this food security bill lift and improve India’s ranking in the World Starvation Index?

Will Rahul Gandhi make a good Prime Minister of India?

The UPA Government has experienced higher proportion of bitterness recently due to the withdrawal of support its coalition parties like the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Further, some aching issues like the petrol, diesel and LPG gas price hikes and FDI have led the public to raise their eyebrows. So, it definitely seems a critical period for the UPA to resolve the issues.

The honorable Prime minister of India, Mr. Manmohan Singh, recently reshuffled the cabinet to strengthen the allies of UPA as well as to ensure betterment of the Indian economy. The reshuffle has also planned well to make due preparation for the 2014 election poll. UPA is eyeing at Rahul Gandhi, to take over the reigns after Mr. Manmohan Singh and lead the nation to success as the tradition of all Gandhis has been so in the past.

The question here is will Mr. Rahul Gandhi make a good Prime minister for India? Although I don't feel very sure, but still I feel this young man has tremendous leadership attitude in himself. More or less he has that Gandhian blood flowing in his body. He has proved himself very much. So, if we at all desire to lift the nation to new heights, the young bloods like Rahul Gandhi should be allowed to lead India ahead.

On the other hand, people of India have been very aware and smart after the gas, diesel and petrol hikes. They also questioned the government's allowance of FDI in multi-brand retail markets. The next question arise here, are the people wrong or the government did every thing right? Well, people have independent voting rights to vote on but still I feel the UPA Government has the vigor to withstand any kind of dilemma or issue which it has proved a number of times and this is the reason I feel Mr. Rahul Gandhi should get a chance.
