List of Indian e-commerce sites that sell pirated products

The COVID-19 pandemic has given a huge surge in the volume of online shopping, especially when you prefer to stay protected from contacts without having to make physical visits to malls for buying your essentials. But have you ever pondered over the originality of the products we shop online e-commerce sites.? Do shopping giants like Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, Shopclues etc. sell fake and pirated goods?

Recently as US based survey line-listed some notorious Indian markets that sell products with duplication and piracy. Although those e-com farms have retaliated firmly, the point to consider deeply is our chances of being cheated. Since anyone can sell his goods through these e-kart shopping agents by registering himself as a seller, there is the least guarantee of providing originality, in-time product servicing and care once a order is delivered. Although not completely fake, but some refurbished goods can also be sold with piracy. When you want to claim warranty, they are never ready to accept your complains. Instead they allege you as blaming the company’s good will. Since you are the person who placed order, your chances of winning back remains very low.

So, here are some of safety tips for online shopping to avoid pirated products:

·         Always make a good research of the product and it’s price from its official website first.

·        Analyze the genuineness of any flagship offer from all sources.

·        Take your time clearing all your doubts regarding your desired products.

·        For safest way, always choose ‘Cash on delivery' option.

·        Make sure record or shoot videos for proofs while opening your delivered order packs.

·        Once something wrong detected, notify the e-commerce portal as soon as possible and return the goods by canceling the order.

So, from a broader analysis, it is a big yes. Almost all e-commerce sites sell pirated goods, although not 100℅. But definitely a portion of their business is yielding dividends through piracy. Otherwise, no such feedbacks or reviews would arise at all.

Top 5 Weak links of modern online shopping

Do you buy most of your home products online? And especially, do you shop online mostly from flipkart? If yes, you need to be extra careful regarding product selection, mode of payment, quality check and last but not least, self satisfaction. Why I am saying this is because very recently, a serious allegation was made on flipkart by a customer that the company sells  stolen products. Eventually, the case was taken seriously by flipkart and dealt with complete lawful prosecution which proved all allegations wrong. Because the said customer was regular flipkart shopper who would shop and return goods showing unsatisfactory reasons. He has been treated accordingly with law.
