Sample format to apply and get FIRC document for Indian bloggers


Are you an online ad publisher/blogger in India and your online income comes from abroad? If so, then you need to produce your Foreign Inward/Income remittance Certificate while filing Income tax return. Here is a sample application document to request for a FIRC document in India.

Getting the FIRC document is very simple. Only you have to use specific format as prescribed by your Bank. For specific FIRC formats of  all banks in India, please pay a visit to your bank’s branch at your location and inquire about the same. I am sure you will be helped Insatntly.
Given below is only sample guidance for getting your FIRC document. If it does your needful, the pleasure is all mine.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I hereby request you to issue Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate (FIRC) for the foreign currency amount received by me through XYZ  branch of ABC Bank. The details of the said remittance details are as given below:

Amount of Remittance :_____________________
Date of Remittance :_______________________

Name & Address of the Remitter : Google Inc, USA
Purpose of Remittance : Advertising Income from Google Adsense Program through the blog/website (name of your blog/website).

Place: ________________                                   (Name & Signature of the Applicant)

Note: Please do remember to replace ‘ABC’ bank with the name of your Bank and ‘XYZ’ branch with the name of your branch. For account holders of HDFC Bank LTD, here is your Bank’s specified format for FIRC document:  FIRC document application form for HDFC bank customers

Fill the above document with correct details and submit it to your Bank/Bank Manager well before prepare for filing Income tax return so that you can get your FIRC document in time. You can keep Xerox copies of all your documents in the process for your safety and produce when required by any regulatory bodies.
